Tour around Gerswalde

The tour starts at the regional store in Flieth. Here you can stock up on provisions for the tour and even hire bikes and e-bikes. There is a charging station for electric cars in front of the farm store.

From Flieth, the cycle tour leads us along the road via Kaakstedt to Gerswalde with beautiful views to the left and right of the route. In the middle of the town stands the most important monument – the moated castle, an impressive medieval castle complex. Thanks to the Wasserburg Gerswalde e.V. development association, it is an interesting attraction for visitors with the Gerswalde Heimatstube, the fishing museum and various exhibitions.

Continue past the Desert Church with the Uckermark Myth Garden on the country road to Berkenlatten. On a tour of the ostrich farm , you can get to know the largest bird on earth. In addition to fresh ostrich meat and sausages, the farm store also sells feathers, feather dusters, artfully engraved ostrich eggs, jewelry and leather goods as well as other regional products. The farm snack bar is also open from April to September. The Berkenlatten barefoot adventure park is also located on the ostrich farm. Around 45 exciting stations are waiting to be explored barefoot. There are also rabbits, budgies and guinea pigs to discover.

Continue along the country road to Groß Fredenwalde. The site is famous for its Stone Age finds. The oldest cemetery in Germany was discovered here. A narrow road leads us to Stegelitz. From here, we follow the Berlin-Usedom long-distance cycle path along a forest path to the Schifferhof bathing area – the Große Lanke of the Oberuckersee. It’s worth taking a break here or cooling off in the lake. We follow the cycle path alongside the road via Suckow back to Flieth and the starting point.
