Remise at the mill stream
The former coachman’s barn in the town center of Lychen was converted into a vacation home. Emphasis was placed on natural building materials: Furniture, windows and floors are made of wood, the interior plaster is made of clay.
The Mühlenbach flows directly along the house and connects the Lychen lakes. Canoeists regularly paddle by in the summer. Several swimming spots are within walking or cycling distance. Four double rooms and one single room with a total of 9 beds offer enough space for families and small groups: breakfast on the terrace, playing in the garden, joint excursions to the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park. The large kitchen with additional bullero stove provides a cozy atmosphere even in the cooler seasons. Nature lovers will find books on the flora and fauna of the region and receive personal recommendations for day trips from the hostess. The nearest bus stop (Lychen, market) is only about 200 m from the cottage.
The house is currently rented only from April to October.
The house is climate friendly because we have
- use natural building materials, e.g. wooden floorboards, wooden windows, clay plaster
- Use a wood-solar system to generate heat
- do without appliances such as TV and freezer
- Mediate rental bicycles
- inform about cycling and hiking tours in the nature park
- design the garden close to nature
- Collect organic waste on the farm’s own compost
